after 9-11, my husband lost his job. he was jobless until just a couple of months ago, in fact. i remember when his unemployment ran out. we almost lost our house. me, him, and the three kids almost homeless. i remember how grateful we were when we got that extension of unemployment. i also remember people looking at us like we were lazy azz people, the 'dregs' as you put it, simply cuz he hadn't been able to find work. it sucks. it sucked. at least now he finally has a job, in a different industry, and hopefully he's gonna have it for a long time. with folks like bush in office, well, it's tragic to lose a job. why is it that people like him seem so self righteous? they seem to look down their rich ass noses at you simply cuz you weren't born into money, or didn't slime your way into it, or whatever. we have to work hard, very hard, to keep our house. every month is a struggle, even with both of us having income. the economy sucks right now. but it seems like the world thinks that every single person who isn't well off is a druggie, a lazy ass, or is less-than-worthy in some other way. *sigh* ok. i'll step offa my soap box now. i just wanted to say that. *shrug* it does suck, doesn't it? i mean, it does. really.
